5 Top Wellness Resort Destinations for Black Couples in 2024

Share

While it’s a great idea to go away for a romantic getaway to a spa or even a luxurious hotel, something that I recently discovered was wellness resorts. Now, you have to be open-minded if you want to give this a chance, but it can do wonders for you and bae. Not only at an individual level, but this is the kind of trip that can really reignite the spark and keep things alive.

Not every wellness resort is the same, of course. If you want to surprise bae with a trip that’s a bit different than the usual vacation, then the wellness resorts I’m about to share are some of the best ones you can choose.

1. IMARA Retreat, Morocco

The very first wellness retreat I’d recommend is IMARA Retreat. It’s a bit of a drive from Marrakech, Morocco, and manages to capture the beauty of the local environment.

Since this is a wellness retreat, you’ll need to check on the schedule and find a program that fits your needs and preferences. It’s a good idea to book in advance. You’ll notice that the programs are divided into multiple days.

The base package includes meditation and yoga sessions, accommodation, workshops, transportation, guided tours, and even a gift bag. There are several add-ons that you can explore, such as camel rides, photoshoots, and breakfast in a hot air balloon.

2. Africa With Us

Africa With Us is a type of travel program that focuses on wellness, all while exploring areas in Africa, including Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. They offer an all-inclusive wellness package that will let you and bae explore nature, go on adventure, and experience the local cultures at your destination.

The package comes with accommodation in all areas where you’ll be traveling, scheduled activities, transportation, and food. You’ll also be offered special gifts from the hosts at each of the places you’ll stay during the trip.

In Zimbabwe, you and bae will be treated to a luxurious spot known as the Amalinda Lodge. While exploring Botswana, you’ll stay at the Ngoma Safari Lodge, and in Zambia, the David Livington Safari Lodge.

It’s not the cheapest package out there, but you can reserve your spot for less than $1,000 and then make payments up to one month before the reservation date.

3. COMO Shambhala Estate, Bali

COMO Hotel Bali

The group of COMO Hotels and Resorts has a long history of providing luxurious experiences focused on nature. The COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali is no different and is the perfect getaway spot for you and bae.

What makes this place so magical is the fact that it was built in the center of a large forest within Bali.

Apart from giving you an opportunity to stay in nature, the resort itself has a lot of luxurious amenities to enjoy. If you’re one for adventure, then you’ll definitely enjoy the Island Experiences that you’ll be offered while staying here.

As part of the wellness program, some of these experiences include water spring blessings, a walk along the estate, and an essential tour that exposes you to the local culture in the area. You’ll be introduced to a range of healthy dining experiences while you’re staying at COMO Shambhala Estate as well.

4. Black Love Retreat

If you and bae want a wellness retreat that focuses on healing and working on your relationship, then the Black Love Retreat in Jamaica might be a great choice. Even though it focuses on helping you address generational and relational traumas, there’s a spot in there for those who simply want to keep the spark alive.

It’s another wellness retreat that you have to book in advance, so be sure to check the dates. You’ll need to pay a reservation fee to ensure you and bae secure a spot.

The wellness retreat gives the two of you access to a five-star couples resort, workshops, group intensives, and even yoga workshops, as well as meditation sessions. While this kind of retreat might not be for everyone, it can surely give you and bae a very unique experience.

The packages include accommodation, transportation, and even food. It’s a wellness retreat by black people for black people, so you’re sure to embrace your own culture, as everything is tailored perfectly to your needs.

It’s not just about the resort and the activities, as Black Love Retreat is also located close to the beach, with magnificent views of the local areas in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. In fact, many people would describe the spot as picture-perfect.

5. Leisano Living, Colombia

Last up is Leisano Living. This is actually another black-owned venture that was started a few years ago, and in just a couple of years, this black female entrepreneur was able to expand her business to several locations.

I’d definitely recommend making a booking at the Colombia branch. It’s called an adventure and wellness retreat, and if you take a look at the things you’ll get to experience, I’m sure you’ll see why.

One thing to note is that they have specific times when they take bookings. This is why it’s a good idea to book some time in advance to make sure there are spots for you and bae.

There are several accommodation options, but I’d suggest you take advantage of the glamping experience they offer. Your days start with some yoga, and then you can catch a class to learn more about nutrition. Relaxation is also a really important part of your experience at this wellness resort.

Your stay includes touring the local culture of Colombia. You’ll be given an opportunity to try out a variety of local cuisines, see some magnificent dances, and get to experience nature first-hand.

The resort itself features a large swimming pool with sun beds on the deck. There are magnificent views, no matter where you are, throughout the resort.

Conclusion

A trip to a wellness resort can help you and bae have an unforgettable experience. There are several options available, including ones that you can join as part of a black couples travel group. I’ve listed the very best wellness resorts for black couples in 2024.
